CRS: GERHARDT, cello & OSBORNE, piano – Sat (Nov 4) 2:30pm

Steven Osborne, whose memorable 2015 recital was a highlight of our season, returns in an exceptional partnership with brilliant cellist Alban Gerhardt.

Alban Gerhardt has established himself as one of the greatest cellists of our time. The cello sings under his hands, standard works are newly discovered and unknown pieces are brought to life. Gerhardt fascinates audiences with the combination of an unerring musical instinct, intense emotionality and a natural, arresting stage presence.

Few present-day pianists have continued to expand their repertoire with the zeal of Steven Osborne. His concerts are remarkable, thought-provoking and deeply moving. His vast technical command is balanced by penetrating insight, mesmerizing colour control and breathtaking articulation.
Gerhardt and Osborne possess an almost subliminal sense of what the other is about to do, so that every musical gesture they make seems totally spontaneous (The Guardian).
Tickets: $25. Students $10
Subscriptions: $120 for the six-concert series. Students $50.
