LAND OF MINE (SC Film Soc) Sat (Nov 11) 2pm

Country: Denmark/Germany 2015
Language: German, Danish, English with English subtitles
Genre: Drama
Runtime: 100 min.

Director: Martin Zandvliet

Synopsis: Based on actual events, this harrowing film takes place in Denmark at the end of WWII when young German POWs, mostly teens with almost no training, are forced to clear the beaches of over one million hidden land mines. Although the consequences are horrific, the Danes have little sympathy for their former occupiers. The film serves as a poignant reminder that revenge destroys more than it satisfies and compassion can help the healing process.
