et Juliette, Gounod’s ultra-sensual interpretation of Shakespeare is an

The National Ballet's The
Nutcracker has been hailed as ‘the best on the planet,’(Globe and Mail,
2006),” said Karen Kain, Artistic Director. “We are thrilled that with
this unprecedented broadcast, Canadians across the country can experience
this wonderful holiday tradition live in HD from the Four Seasons Centre.”
The Nutcracker will be filmed using seven HD cameras at the Four Seasons
Centre for the Performing Arts in Toronto and transmitted live to the
Raven's Cry Theatre in Sechelt.

a shadowy world of unknown menace, pursued by the Witch (portrayed by
tenor Philip Langridge) who seeks to devour them. The English-language
production of Engelbert Humperdinck’s masterful treatment of the beloved
story by the Brothers Grimm is the second in the Met’s annual series of
special holiday presentations.
